I. Application
This impulse test system is used for testing SPD of grade III.
II. Design
Based on IEC61000-4-5 and GB/T17626.5-1999, which stipulate voltage waveform, characteristic and performance of signal generator, and coupling/decoupling network.
Based on IEC61643-11 and GB/T18802.1-2002, which stipulate testing of SPD of grade I and II, and composite wave testing of grade III.
III. Main Specifications
1. Voltage waveform and output voltage range
l Open voltage Uac: wave front time 1.2μS±30%, half peak time 50μS±20%, peak value
±3%;
l In the peak of wave, the voltage ≥5% of peak value over-shoot or oscillating is not permitted. Open voltage peak value 1kV-20kV.
2. Charging voltage displayed by pointer voltmeter and digital voltmeter. Forward direction or reverse direction impulse is realized.
3. Display impulse voltage, accuracy is ±1%.
4. Output voltage measurement
Impulse voltage divider will be supplied.The accuracy of voltage ratio is ±1%. It output to BNC port of the panel, for oscillograph connection by user.
5. Enough safety and security device, to ensure safe operation.
6. All the components are equipped in the cabinet, easy and safe to operate.
7. Rated parameter
l Input power: 220VAC, 5kVA
l Rated charging voltage: 20kV
l Total capacitance: 9μF*1
l Rated energy: 18kJ.
8. Voltage waveform and amplitude
l When charging voltage is 20kV, the generator can output 1.2/50μs waveform of impulse voltage, voltage amplitude 20kV.
l Duty cycle: Continuous working at rated voltage and every 120s charging and discharging once.
Continuous working at 2/3 of rated voltage and every 10-60s charging and discharging once.

l Wave-adjustable inductors and resistors, and other adjustable components
The ignition sphere gap is cooper ball with tungsten inlay. The control mode is mechanic and impulse way, which can endure big current.
